Today the United States military began a military exercise named Jade Helm 15, that has become the center of the amount of conspiracy theories from right wing groups. According to PolitiFact the operation involves approximately 1,200 U.S. troops, most of whom are special operations forces. Those troops will likely be conducting a two-month exercise spanning across many states inside the South, but focused mostly on Southwestern United States including Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, and California. The response from some within the conservative media has become nothing short of full scale paranoia, with many arguing Jade Helm 15 can be a secret operation to permit China to look at over the United States.

Until recently Midland would be a two Walmart town. One store was located on the north side of town and another the south. That changed in April if the retailer suddenly closed its northern border side store as well as other stores in Livingston, Texas, Pico Rivera, Calif., Tulsa, Okla., and Brandon, Fla. The Midland store closing included layoffs for most of the 456 employees in accordance with the Dallas Morning News. The Midland Reporter-Telegram notes how the store will probably be closed for as much as few months.
